If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my journey as a stage four lymphoma survivor, it’s this: love is the most powerul force we have. When life takes an unexpected turn, it’s not the things we own or the tasks we completed that matter—it’s the people, the connections, and the love we’ve shared along the way.
Please don’t wait until life reminds you of what truly matters. I want you to embrace love fully, right now, in all the big and small ways that make life so beautiful. Here’s are a few suggestions:
1. Love Deeply and Love Now
There’s no better time to show love than today. Life is constantly changing, and while we can’t predict the future, we can make sure the people we love feel that love every single day. Send that text, give that hug, make that phone call—don’t wait for a “perfect” moment. Love is meant to be felt now.
2. Show Up for People Just Because You Care
One of the greatest gifts we can give someone is our presence not just when they need us most, but always. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to show love. Be there for the small moments, the everyday joys, the regular check-ins. Let people know they’re valued and cherished just for being who they are.
3. Share Kind Words While Hearts Can Hear Them
There’s something so beautiful about telling someone what they mean to you while they’re here to receive it. Don’t hold back your words of encouragement, appreciation, and love. Tell your friends how much they inspire you, remind your family how grateful you are for them, and celebrate the wonderful qualities you see in the people around you. Your words have power—use them to lift others up.
4. Celebrate Love Every Chance You Get
Love is always worth celebrating, whether it’s a holiday, a milestone, or just a regular day that deserves to be special. Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries—lean into them! Make memories, be playful, and cherish traditions, because those little moments are the ones that will stay in your heart forever.
5. Say “I Love You” as Often as It Comes to Mind
There’s no such thing as saying “I love you” too much. Don’t save it for special occasions say it when you feel it, say it unexpectedly, say it until the people you love never have to question how much they mean to you. Love is meant to be spoken and shared freely.
6. Let’s Fill the World with More Love
Through all of life’s ups and downs, love is what carries us through. It gives us strength, it connects us, and it makes life truly meaningful. We have the power to bring more love into the world—through our words, our actions, and the way we care for one another.
So let’s love more. Let’s love louder. Let’s love without hesitation.
Because in the end, love is what matters most.
